Updates in the works....
Hello all - I've almost finished an update to the Tree of Life app, with numerous improvements, including:
- Multiple control/camera options - the original with 2 virtual joysticks, another setup that uses the tilt functions of the device like a driving game, and finally an easy "touch and move" mechanism.
- 2 options for the garden scene, each at a different scale, and each with optimized geometry for better performance.
- Integral hints system for new users
- Ability to save settings
- Entire path highlights when selected, instead of glowing particles.
I hope to put the finishing touches on this within the next week or two, so the update should be available a week or two later if all goes well. This update (let's call it version 1.1) will be free for all previous customers; I have no plans to change the current price of 4.99 usd.
For you iPad users, I should have an HD version ready shortly thereafter (it looks awesome on the larger screen), and I'm also planning a standalone version for Mac and PC.
Thanks to everyone who has supported this effort, and for your patience - as a solo developer it's a challenge to wear all the hats needed to pull this off, but it's gratifying to know that some folks have found it so useful. For future versions I'm working on a "tagging" mechanism for users to add their comments, links and media to locations in the garden, and a multiplayer chat capability. Other environments and sacred spaces are also in the works, but I'll save that for next time...
Thanks again for your support!
Jim
